The Client

The Africa Transitional Justice Legacy Fund (ATJLF) is a pioneering organization dedicated to supporting community-led, transformative initiatives that address the legacies of conflicts and human rights violations across Africa. ATJLF focuses on building technical capacity, fostering community and strategic partnerships, and mobilizing resources to promote transitional justice on the continent.

The Goal

ATJLF required a Grants Management System (GMS) to optimize its grant application, evaluation, and monitoring processes. The system needed to:

Provide an efficient platform for submitting and tracking grant applications.

Enable transparent grant evaluation and approval workflows.

Offer a centralized dashboard for reporting, analytics, and decision-making.

Ensure secure data storage and user management.

The primary goal was to simplify the grant management lifecycle, enhance operational efficiency, and improve engagement with grantees.

The Result

We developed a fully customized Grants Management System (GMS) tailored to ATJLF’s operational needs. The system includes:

1. Intuitive Application Portal

Applicants can submit proposals, upload required documents, and track their submission status.

Automated notifications keep applicants informed of their grant progress.

2. Robust Administrator Dashboard

A comprehensive dashboard displays key statistics, including:

Total number of partners.

Total number of projects.

Total grants issued (USD).

Recent login information.

Role-based access control ensures that only authorized users can modify critical data.

3. Role & User Management

Administrators can create, edit, and delete user roles, assigning different levels of permissions.

Users are assigned roles such as Evaluators, Program Officers, and Finance Managers, with tailored access rights.

4. Project & Document Categorization

Grants are grouped into Project Categories for easy tracking.

A Document Management System allows administrators to organize and retrieve grant-related files efficiently.

5. Evaluation & Approval Workflow

The system provides a structured review process, allowing evaluators to score and provide feedback on applications.

Role-based workflows enable efficient grant approval and disbursement tracking.

6. Secure Data Storage & Reporting

The system follows international data protection standards to ensure grant-related information remains confidential.

Administrators can generate real-time reports on application trends, funding allocations, and project outcomes.
